(02-12 -2019) The current state of the Somali environment is quite deplorable in terms of recurrent alternate droughts and floods with recurrence rate of about every 3 – 4 years. There are four main elements that devastate Somali environment
- Water contamination and environmental pollution owing to lack of waste and sewage management;
- Recurring droughts and flash floods attributable to climate change;
- High rate deforestation as a result of charcoal harvesting;
- Indiscriminate fishing and pillaging wildlife.
